An Immersive Journey Through Art and Inspiration
The AHS Art Gallery Exhibition will bring together over 60 never seen before original watercolours, drawings and prints. Featuring Albany artists and a array of works from our extensive catalogue and collection which included pencil sketches, commercial works, printing plates, photographic prints, early settlers, postcards and oral history.

Not only will this exhibition be a must attend by art lovers, but will showcase historical and national significant pieces. The AHS art collection provides a lasting legacy and our important role to provide the opportunity to showcase and celebrate this important work with the public.
The highlight of this exhibit is the Batelier Collection, John Barker alongside Brenda Holland and one off pieces, currently on print display in Patrick Taylor's Cottage and Albany Convict Gaol Museum's.
Reviving Masterpieces: The Art of Restoration
The Albany Historical Society has proudly self funded the restoration of several exquisite art pieces by Brenda Holland and John Barker in preparation for the Bicentenary Art Exhibition. This significant effort ensures these masterpieces, rich with local history are preserved and presented in their full glory, allowing visitors to experience the artistry and heritage of Albany in celebration of this milestone anniversary. The restoration work reflects AHS’s dedication to safeguarding our cultural legacy and offering a deeper connection to the community’s artistic history.

The Art Exhibition is to be held at Hilton Garden Inn and will showcase over 60 never-before-seen works from local artists, each with its own unique story behind it. This art exhibition not only highlights local artists but also offers a deep dive into the region's history through various art forms and is a wonderful way to engage the community and visitors alike.
