The French explorer Nicolas Baudin arrived at King George Sound on the 18th of February, 1803 in the Géographe and Casuarina. He surveyed Princess Royal Harbour, Oyster Harbour and the coast as far as Bald Island, to the east. During his visit, Casuarina was beached in Princess Royal Harbour for repairs. He sailed again on the 1st of March 1803.
